Greetings, students, parents, staff, and shareholders,
It is my privilege to undertake this pivotal servant-leadership role where I will be able to collaborate with the school community in the delivery of a world-class, quality education to every child who attends a school in the West Tallahatchie School District.
As I begin my tenure as the Interim Superintendent for this Great School District, I am humbled by the honor of partnering with parents and guardians to provide the best possible education for their children.
It is a humbling experience because the education of a child is a critically important task that requires the complete dedication and insight of all who serve the educational and emotional needs of the child.
This is an important year for our school district. We have high expectations for our schools, and we have high expectations for our students.
I have walked through the halls of all of the schools, the second home to educators and students, where I have seen the triumphs and challenges of maintaining the physical plants (our students). In addition, I have met many of the dedicated parents and alumni who have taken active roles in ensuring the viability of the schools for generations to come. The community spirit and grace that I have felt present in each educational setting has assured me that the school community is working diligently with the needs of its students in mind.
Working together, we have set a new vision for all students in West Tallahatchie public schools to make sure that they graduate ready for work, college and life. We want to see every student reach their full potential, and everyone has a vital role to play in helping students reach this goal.
The field of education is continually changing and expanding, and I am fortunate to be able to discern that we will be building on current success and strategically moving into the future to create the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr. Christopher Furdge
